Project Details
  • This is a design-build (DB) project to provide complete design and construction of a new UFC-compliant single-story 15m x 34m Command and Control Facility/Interagency Fusion Centre (C2 Fusion Centre).

Qualifications
& Skills

    Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.

  • minusyellow

    Minimum 5-10 years of experience as an SSHO/Safety Manager on government, military, or large-scale construction projects.

  • minusyellow

    Certified Safety Officer (SO2/SO3), OSHA 30, or equivalent safety certifications.

  • minusyellow

    Extensive knowledge of EM 385-1-1, OSHA 29 CFR 1926, and UFC safety requirements.

Responsibilities

    Develop, implement, and enforce the project’s Accident Prevention Plan (APP).

    Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA 29 CFR 1926, UFC safety standards, and local safety regulations.

    Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)/Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) for all critical tasks.

    Conduct daily site safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.

    Implement corrective actions for identified hazards and safety violations.

  • minusblue

    Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce safety rules.

    Organize and lead daily/weekly toolbox talks on safety topics.

  • minusblue

    Provide safety orientation and training for all new workers, subcontractors, and visitors.

    Train workers in emergency response procedures, fire prevention, and first aid.

    Investigate and document all incidents, near misses, and accidents.

    Prepare and submit Incident Reports and Root Cause Analyses (RCA).

    Recommend and implement corrective and preventive measures.

    Develop and implement Emergency Response Plans (ERP).

    Conduct fire drills, evacuation drills, and emergency response exercises.

    Ensure all emergency equipment. Serves as the primary safety liaison between the project team, client, and regulatory agencies.

    Attend safety meetings with management and report on compliance status.

    Work closely with QC and Construction managers to align safety with quality and productivity.

    Monitor environmental compliance (hazardous material handling, waste disposal, air quality, noise levels, etc.).

    Ensure compliance with Occupational Health Standards, including noise exposure, ergonomics, and proper ventilation.

    Maintain and submit Daily Safety Reports (DSR), safety checklists, and inspection logs.

    Ensure documentation of all safety permits, certifications, and training records.

  • minusblue

    Submit Monthly Safety Performance Reports to management.
