We are looking for a skilled Alternate Site Superintendent ,This individual shall have a minimum of five (5) years experience as a superintendent on construction projects similar in size and scope to this contract. The project superintendent shall have overall responsibility for all operations on the job site. the individual needs a combination of specific training, qualifications, and experience
This position requires relocation to Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands where housing is provided and likely includes future relocations to other Pacific island locations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Review contract drawings and specifications thoroughly
· Create Execution Plan: Develop a comprehensive Construction Execution Plan (CEP) outlining the overall strategy for completing the project. This includes defining project scope, objectives, methodologies, and procedures.
· Work with Project Manager and Planning Engineer to develop a detailed project schedule that outlines all phases of construction, including key milestones and deadlines.
· Work closely with planners to input the detailed schedule into Primavera or other project management software. Ensure that the schedule reflects realistic timelines and dependencies.
· Work closely with planning engineer to regularly review and update the schedule based on project progress and any changes in scope or conditions.
· Develop Resource Plan to identify all necessary resources, including manpower, equipment, tools, and consumables required for the project.
· Develop a detailed resource plan by trade, specifying the types and quantities of resources needed at various stages of the project.
· Align the resource plan with the project timeline to ensure that resources are available when needed, minimizing delays and optimizing efficiency.
· Work with project team, including project managers, QCM, SSHO and engineers, to ensure that the execution plan aligns with project goals and requirements.
· Oversee daily construction activities to ensure that the project progresses according to the schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
· Manage Productivity and Ensure Cost-Effective Use of Resources
· Collaborate closely with the project manager to review project plans, schedules, and resource needs.
· Direct and oversee self-performing construction work, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and project specifications.
· Enforce safety regulations and best practices on-site to minimize accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
· Along with SSHO, SS will lead regular safety meetings and inspections to address potential hazards and ensure safety procedures are followed.
· Conduct regular inspections of work to ensure it meets the required quality and standards.
· Identify and address any quality issues or defects promptly, coordinating with subcontractors and other stakeholders as needed.
· Serve as the primary point of contact between the contractor, USACE representatives, and other stakeholders.
· Submit regular progress reports, including updates on schedule, budget, and any issues encountered.
· Address Issues: Quickly identify and resolve any issues or obstacles that arise during the construction process.
· Develop and implement solutions to keep the project on track and within scope.
· Keep accurate and up-to-date records of daily activities, materials used, and work completed.
