MVL Completes Design-Build Project in Diego Garcia

A major milestone has been achieved in Diego Garcia with the completion of MVL’s first design-build project on the island.

The design-build approach places design and construction responsibilities within one coordinated delivery process. This enables design development, technical reviews, constructability, procurement, and field execution to be managed collectively throughout the project lifecycle.

Delivering construction in Diego Garcia presents considerable challenges. Materials, equipment, and specialist resources must travel over long distances, requiring detailed procurement planning and close control of shipping schedules. The remote location leaves limited room for supply-chain disruption or the unplanned replacement of resources.
