MVL Breaks Ground on Navy Inn Crew Stay Project at Kadena Air Base

Construction is officially underway on the Navy Inn Crew Stay project at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan.

The project will deliver a new lodging facility supporting the accommodation requirements of personnel serving at the installation.

Building within an active air base requires extensive coordination, controlled access, careful construction sequencing, and strict compliance with safety, quality, security, and operational requirements.

The work will bring together architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life-safety, and specialist accommodation systems. Procurement and logistics must also be carefully managed to coordinate approved materials, local suppliers, specialist subcontractors, and project schedules.

The groundbreaking follows a detailed period of planning, design coordination, and mobilization. It represents another important addition to MVL’s growing portfolio in Japan and strengthens the company’s experience delivering complex facilities within active military environments.
