MVL Commissions Concrete Batch Plant in Diego Garcia

Greater control over one of construction’s most critical materials has been established in Diego Garcia through the commissioning of MVL’s first company-owned concrete batch plant.

The facility strengthens the company’s ability to manage concrete production, mix consistency, testing, scheduling, and supply continuity across its projects on the island.

These capabilities are especially important in Diego Garcia, where long shipping routes, limited local suppliers, and restricted access to replacement materials can significantly affect construction activities.

Operating its own plant allows MVL to align concrete production more closely with site schedules and technical requirements. It also provides greater flexibility when planning pours, responding to changing site conditions, and supporting multiple work fronts.

Before becoming operational, the plant underwent coordinated installation, inspection, calibration, trial production, and commissioning.

This investment enhances MVL’s self-performance capabilities and establishes valuable infrastructure to support both current construction activities and the company’s long-term program in Diego Garcia.
